New page coming up in a couple hours!~ (Or if you wanna be sneaky and read ahead, there’s a link to the right!)
But thank you so much for reading it! You made my day! ?
Hi, Christy!
I’ve been a fan of your work for a long time, and I really look up to you. Fairy Foxes brought me so much nostalgia and reading your comic Extra has been quite the experience. It’s so fun to see how far you’ve come in developing your own style and your great improvements especially in digital. I remember when Extra only had 30 pages or so and I still wait every week for more. Recently you said you maybe hit a creative wall? I was wondering why there were no recent updates but I’m glad to see you back. I know how much feedback means to an artist and when someone just says “cool” or “amazing” it feels like they’re just saying things and annoys us all. But some people aren’t too good with words, and they sincerely mean that they like your work. I feel like everything I’ve been saying is kind of unorganized, and I don’t even know if you’ll respond to this, but I hope you see this. I want to give you some criticism, but I don’t know how much it will help because I’m not a professional artist or anything. I don’t have a DA account so I am gushing out on here. My criticism is mostly about the rough draft version of Extra, I haven’t read the whole thing on here. So about the art: some of the recent pages looked a little rushed and the characters seem very stiff, but it makes sense, because they are having a conversation. Your backgrounds and perspective can always be improved. You’ve gotten good at placing speech bubbles and comic layout and drawing consistent characters with varying facial expressions. I like your simple yet effective designs for you characters and their personalities play off each other well. I’m hoping to see more character development since they are separated and we get to observe them individually. Your are good at world-building and have set the “rules” for the Extra world very clearly. At some points in the plot it drags on a little (I think this is kind of a spoiler but I’m just going to say the part where they were on the boat dragged on a bit, but it revealed more about Xavier’s personality), but it is mostly straightforward. There is a little filler, but you said there were multiple books for this comic so it explains why it’s so long (congrats on over 400 pages, that is true dedication I admire). You talk about Valerie and Theo a lot and I want to see more of it happen! but I’m not sure because of Theo’s fate which is also uncertain. I can’t lie, Roji is my favorite character, and I’m looking forward to his next encounter with buttons and solving the mystery of his ice cream problem. You can tell you have worked really hard on this comic and congratulations for getting a website! I want to end this little paragraph by saying that I love your work and am inspired by you!
Thank you for your kind and thoughtful comment! I really appreciate it. :’D
I’m excited that you like the story so far and will definitely take your critique into account. I am fully aware of the stiffness of the uncolored version and am hoping to make the color version a little more dynamic in both art and dialogue as I make it, which I’d say has been a successful venture thus far. (I’m also slowly getting out of creator’s block, so that’s a good thing!)
Thank you so much for your support! It means a lot to me!~
7.8/10 needs more jpeg

In all seriousness, this is an awesome comic and I am ecstatic that I found it. Keep up the good work.

It’s a motherfly ’cause it’s fuzzy like a moth but has the antenai of a butterfly!

“I don’t have to draw mud anymore!”
Two pages later… “Chocolate pudding fight!”
We need a backstory on how Alexis became obsessed with fish!
